Over the past 10+ years, driven by near zero cost of capital environment, fueled a shift to eCommerce. Brands have been investing for growth and scale, and those costs have exploded. To be honest, brands have been sold a future of new Microservices, APIs, Headless, composable, and many other buzz words that enabled brands to differentiate vs. their market peers. However, with capabilities, comes great overhead to manage…..which has created an explosion of information workers and costs to operate these systems. Priorities have shifted, cost of capital has significantly increased, and EBITDA is now king once again.
